OutWest Guides

Trophy mule deer hunting, elk hunting, blue grouse & whitetail ptarmigan hunting, guided fly-fishing trips, overnight Montana-style expedition pack trips, and guided horseback rides are the specialties of OutWest. Situated in scenic Marble, Colorado, OutWest Guides is only an hour from Aspen, 45 minutes from Glenwood Springs, a short half hour from Carbondale, and just minutes from Redstone. We outfit in Game Management Unit 43 in the Maroon Bells/Snowmass and Raggeds Wilderness areas.

If you are interested in hunting a trophy mule deer in the high country, we are the place to book.  We spend a lot of time during the summer scouting the big boys, and we know where they live.

Elk hunting with OutWest Guides is a treat for anyone looking for a great western adventure.  We hunt from horseback, and you will see some of the most spectacular views in the west.  Our unit has a great elk herd and our camps are set at around 10,000 feet.  If the weather is just right, you might have elk come right through camp.  We have actually had hunters fill their tags in camp.  With that said, we are in the elk's living room from the get go.  Let us help you bag your trophy.

Archery, Muzzleloader, or Rifle hunts, take your pick.  We do it all, and our guides are great hunters as well. We will hunt hard and go wherever it takes to find the game.  OutWest Guides does not do what is just convenient for us, we do what it takes to provide you with a great hunt.

A Blue Grouse and Whitetail Ptarmigan hunt with OutWest Guides is a must do for the serious upland game bird hunter.  If you are use to flatland quail or pheasant hunts and have never experienced high country bird hunting from horseback, you have to add this experience to your hunting memories.  Great dogs, experienced guides, world class views, outstanding horses, and worthy game to pursue make this hunt unforgettable.  We have a very limited number of hunt dates available, so book early.

Would you like to pursue a Colorado trout grand slam?  OutWest Guides has access to waters where you can try your hand at connecting with 4 species of trout in the same river.  You can fish for Brook Trout, Brown Trout, Cutthroat, and Rainbows all in one day.  Our guides specialize in teaching novice trout fishermen, and we can also show advanced clients a few tricks to improve their skills.

We pride ourselves in having friendly, & knowledgeable staff members that will make your time with OutWest Guides very enjoyable.  The scenery in our outfitting area is world class.  Visit us during the Summer to view and photograph beautiful mountains, flowers, and wildlife, or come for a breathtaking, color filled Fall trail ride.

Our horses are the backbone of our business.  You will love the variety of breeds we offer.  Our horses are responsive, gentle, and do not resemble those old nags on most large group trail rides.  You may find a horse you just can't live without.  We put a lot of hours on our horses in the high country to make them the best trail horses you will find, then we offer them for sale.

We offer a variate of rides to fit your ability and desires.  Call us early to book your half day or full day ride.  You will love our views from horseback.
